Lutyens Napoleon Chair
Quite a rarety, the shape is known to be a Edwin Lutyen Design which would date it to 1930 or later. The original being apparently copied from a version in a painting of napoleon that Lutyen had seen.
The earlier versions had longer legs and the later versions designed by Robert Lutyen had shorter legs, which would date this chair at 1935 onwards
One Leg has a number stamp and the legs have been painted in a faux gold finish.
id date this chair to be at the latest 1940 but looks more like 1910/1920
It has been fully restored and is ready for a recover, which we offer
