A diminutive Victorian slipper sofa, dating to approximately 1860–1880.
The low, armless frame has a deep-buttoned back with a rolled upper edge and a sprung seat with rounded front corners. Raised on short turned front legs with carved lobed decoration and a beaded lower collar, with plain rear supports and ceramic-wheeled castors.
At just 109cm wide, its compact proportions suit a bedroom or smaller sitting room.
The frame is sturdy and the sofa is offered for recovering. The existing underlying upholstery appears serviceable, although its full condition will need assessing during upholstery work. The covering of this banquette sofa bench is worn and incomplete, with exposed upholstery around the sides and back.
