19th Century Sarcophagus Storage Ottoman

A 19th-century storage ottoman of sarcophagus form, with gently concave sides above a moulded wooden plinth. The turned bun feet incorporate recessed the original brass and ceramic castors.
The rectangular hinged lid is traditionally upholstered and opens to a fabric-lined storage compartment. Its narrow proportions make it a useful piece for the foot of a bed or beneath a window.
Sturdy and firm, with wear and fading to the existing covering and surface marks, rubbing and areas of finish loss to the wooden plinth and feet. Suitable for recovering in a fabric of your choice.
