Suzani is a type of elaborate decorative embroidered tribal textile made in asian countries such as Uzbekistan and others middle eastern countries.
Each suzani can take countless hours to create and often have multiple people working on one at the same time and then joining each piece together to make one single piece. This is why you may see a joint in the cotton.
The word suzani derives from the Persian word suzan which translates to needle.
Originally used by nomadic tribes as a protective tent like covering and prayer mats.
Today they make great decorative art work for your walls or as a bed spread.
I have made a range of foot stools using vintage suzanis and in a range of colours and designs to give you choice that i hope gives you a piece that seamlessly fits in with your decor.
