Indian chakki rice table - vintage coffee table

Originating from India, this approximately 100 year old traditional piece would originally have had quern stones for grinding wheat or other grains. A table like this was a permanent fixture in most traditional Indian homes.

It features four chunky legs with a carved design, a metal strap and metal stud running all around the top edge. The is a little door at the side which would of been used to collect the ground flour or spices.

Approximate size is 70cm x 70cm x 25cm.

This ethnic piece of history would certainly add some bohemian vibe to your home. It can be used as a coffee table, side table, plant stand or simply a centre-piece in your lounge.

Please do bear in mind this item is not new. It displays lovely imperfections such as dents and scratches due to its age.
