Its hinged upholstered lid opens to reveal a useful storage compartment beneath, making it particularly suitable for use at the end of a bed, beneath a window or as a substantial low seat.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"1174\"\u003eThe ottoman retains its original brass and porcelain castors and has a firm frame. The considerable length of 164cm gives it greater presence and practical seating space than many surviving examples of this type.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1431\"\u003eThe existing upholstery is later and the lid has not been upholstered using entirely traditional methods.
